I. The Burden

They traveled through Canaan, where God provided for them as they wandered. He protected them from danger and supplied their every need. But the promise of descendants as numerous as the stars remained unfulfilled.
VI. The Sacrifice
In time, they reached a place called Mount Moriah. There, God tested Abraham's faith. He commanded him to offer up his only son, Isaac, as a sacrifice. With faith and obedience in his heart, Abraham prepared the offering and bound Isaac to the altar. As he raised his hand to slay his beloved child, an angel of the Lord stayed his hand.
VII. The Intervention
"Abraham," said the angel, "I have tested your faith, but your son will live. In this place, I will establish my covenant with you and your descendants after you. Through Isaac, all the families of the earth shall be blessed." And so, Abraham built an altar to the Lord there on Mount Moriah, marking the spot where God had spoken to him.
VIII. The Legacy

Centuries after the return from exile, God fulfilled his promise to Abraham once more. He sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to earth as both man and God. In time, Jesus ascended into heaven, leaving his disciples to carry on his work. They spread the message of salvation far and wide, establishing churches in cities across the Roman Empire.
