I. The Burden

He raised his eyes from the ground and beheld a small bush ablaze with fire, yet untouched by the flames. VI. The Aftermath
As the years passed, Elijah watched in wonder as Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha fulfilled their roles as king, prophet, and prophet's successor. Each of them faced trials and tribulations, but they remained steadfast in their faith and obedience to God's will.
And though Elijah himself did not live to see the full fruition of his labors, he knew that his work had not been in vain. For through his humility and obedience, he had become a part of the divine plan to bring salvation to a wayward nation.
In the end, as Elijah lay dying on Mount Carmel, he was comforted by the knowledge that his life had been spent in service to the Lord. And as he drew his last breath and passed from this world into the next, he knew that his legacy would live on through the generations, for he had truly been a faithful servant of the Most High God.
