I. The Burden

If you do not repent and turn away from your sinful ways, the Lord will surely bring judgment upon you and all those who follow you."
Rehoboam was shaken by Shemaiah's words, but he could not bring himself to believe that his fall would be so swift or so certain. He dismissed the prophet and continued on his path of corruption, convinced that he could weather any storm that might come his way.
